Bio: Eshawn Peterson's journey is nothing short of inspirational. Having spent 8 years within the Arizona foster care system, she not only overcame adversity but became a passionate advocate for youth within and emerging from foster care. As a former foster parent herself, Eshawn's firsthand experiences have shaped her unshakable commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice for BIPOC families experiencing systems involvement.
Peterson & Associates Consulting & Training, LLC (PACT): As the driving force behind PACT, Eshawn is committed to creating positive change within organizations and communities. PACT specializes in capacity-building for nonprofits and for-profit businesses, with a specific focus on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice. Eshawn's expertise in Change & Implementation Science, Strategic Planning, and DEI best practices has enabled her to provide technical assistance and consultation to Child Welfare Systems nationwide, making a significant impact on the well-being outcomes for youth and families of color.
The Ripple Society: In January 2023, Eshawn also founded The Ripple Society, an organization dedicated to wellness coaching, leadership development, and consultancy business coaching for individuals with lived experiences in human services. Onward Hope, Inc.: In March 2014, Eshawn founded Onward Hope, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit Child Welfare Agency. This organization focuses on supporting Opportunity Youth and Families in and from systems in a trauma-informed and person-centered environment. Eshawn's agency has pioneered innovative programs, including transitional housing, Opportunity Developing Coaching, and Resiliency Camp services for youth transitioning between the ages of 14-29.
Academic Journey: Eshawn's academic achievements include a Bachelor's degree from the University of Arizona, an MBA from the University of Phoenix, and ongoing pursuit of her PhD. She is also a certified Diversity Executive (Institute of Diversity Certification) and holds certifications in Nonprofit Management and Executive Leadership from Arizona State University.
